Samantha Jahnig , RMT

  • Registered Massage Therapist
  • Vodder Certified Manual Lymphatic Drainage and Combined Decongestive Therapist

Samantha was born and raised in Vernon, BC, and has recently moved back from Edmonton where her and her husband have resided the past two years. Having worked alongside Dr. Downie and Dr. Weglo for 3 years prior, she is looking forward to being back at the clinic and back in the Okanagan!

Samantha graduated from the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy 3000 hour program in 2011, receiving both top academic and practical awards as well as the professionalism award of her class.  Upon graduation she wrote her BC board exams and was commended by the College of Massage Therapists of BC for her impressive results and exceptional preparation.

Samantha has worked as a full time Registered Massage Therapist since graduation, and her passion for the benefits of Massage Therapy continues to grow as she continues her practice.  Samantha includes orthopedic assessment, many soft tissue modalities, patient education, and homecare exercises in her Massage Therapy treatment sessions. Each patient receives individualized care according to the symptoms and history they present with. Samantha has a passion for alternative therapies and works collaboratively with and refers to other professionals such as Chiropractors, Acupuncturists, and Naturopaths, to provide a full healthcare team for her patients.

In 2012 Samantha completed full training in the Dr.Vodder method of Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) including Combined Decongestive Therapy (CDT) and K-Taping.  While in Edmonton she worked alongside Ian Soles at Salutaris Centre, a well-known clinic and Massage Therapist in Alberta for treating Lymphedema, Lipedema, Chronic Edema and other edema related conditions. Her time at Salutaris Centre provided her with copious amounts of experience working with a varied range of patients struggling with symptoms of mild to severe swelling (edema) and patients feeling hopeless and nervous about their condition. Samantha loves helping people with MLD as the education and relief that can be provided is extremely rewarding.

Samantha is a strong believer in the body’s natural ability to heal itself, and believes with the proper combination of nutrition and training the body and mind, the body has no choice but to thrive!
